Angel in Adoption happy to be part of "amazing process"

A Louisiana adoption worker shares her experiences in this Times-Picayune article.

When Danna Cousins went to Washington last month to receive the Angels in Adoption Congressional Award, Sen. Mary Landrieu asked her if she knew how many adoptions she'd facilitated. Cousins told her no.

"It's never been numbers to me. It's always been stories," she said. "Every adoption is so special and unique. It's an amazing process to be part of."

Cousins, who lives in Metairie, has helped countless children and parents become families in both domestic and international adoptions for more than 20 years. She thinks she was meant to be a part of that amazing process.

From Campaign Chair, Dana Hammer

September 1 2011

Dear friends,

The Advertise for Life Project is an outgrowth of the monthly pro-life luncheons my husband Mike and I host each month. At these luncheons, dedicated pro-lifers from around the region share ideas on how to expand outreach and services to pregnant women. Our collaboration has had many positive results, including the creation of a home for pregnant women.

A year ago, I felt God tugging at my heart to do more. I sincerely believe that there are many more people in Louisiana who would like save precious babies from abortion, and advertisements are a great way to reach the hearts of young women in our community. Add a comment

Advertise for Life

On September 1, the Advertise for Life Louisiana Initiative released the ADifficultChoice.com campaign.

The mission of the campaign is to reach women considering abortion through compelling and youthful advertisements that will encourage them to choose life for themselves and their child. The ads, including strategic billboards, radio spots, Facebook ads, and movie theater preview ads, will connect women, through a website and hotline number, with local pregnancy resource centers that can offer immediate assistance.
